Dory Jackson is a writer, editor, reporter, and on-air talent specializing in entertainment news. Although much of her work is entertainment-based, she has enjoyed covering news within the celebrity, political, lifestyle, beauty, fashion and business world.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Randolph-Macon College in May 2016. Her focus was on Communications Studies and Journalism. She participated in the R-MC Cheer & Dance Team, Stinger Radio Station, and The Yellow Jacket Newspaper.
Her sophomore year of college is when she realized that she was meant to pursue a career in entertainment journalism after attending Hot 99.5s Jingle Ball — an event where she had her first celebrity interviews with Fifth Harmony and Austin Mahone.
She's since worked with news brands such as MTV, Us Weekly, International Business Times and Newsweek. Through Newsweek, she's interviewed dozens of A-List stars, including Zooey Deschanel, Michael B. Jordan, Kristen Bell, Alec Baldwin, Viola Davis and Laverne Cox.
Currently, Dory works in New York City as an Associate TV Editor for PEOPLE. Through this role, she's continued interviewing top-tier stars like Pierce Brosnan, Savannah Guthrie, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, John Stamos and Kate Hudson.
Outside of her work as a digital and print journalist, Dory has found her grove on-screen as a contributor. She's made major TV appearances on programs like Good Morning America, ABC News' Nightline and NewsNation Now. In addition to previously co-hosting the "Idol Nation" podcast, she also made appearances on the PEOPLE Every Day podcast and The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast.
Dory has also garnered experience as a panel moderator and host. She moderated the "Full House" cast reunion panel at 90s Con Connecticut 2023, a livestream panel with stars from Hallmark's The Way Home and a one-on-one conversation with Omarion at the Harlem International Film Festival. Additionally, she hosted The Women of Country's 2023 CMA Fest Week Showcase.
